Battle Structure? Empty Battle Structure?

Post by Lathis Fri Apr 02, 2010 5:27 pm

Hi,

I have a small army now and I think I'm ready for hunting resources. My question is, how the are damages assigned to both sides? How do they share the damage against the ships/defenses that doesn't involve rapidfire?

I understand that rapidfire ability kills the specified number of the certain ships even if the attack power is under the total structural integrity. But for ex. to destroy plasma cannons the attack power should match the structural integrity (I'm assuming no combat research superiorities). Also, is the total attack power uniformly distributed over defenses?

Can someone give me a brief explanation, so that I can give more accurate decisions knowing the exact amount of ships I will lose.

Thanks

I always use SpeedSim. Antigame has a button "WEBSIM" that links to the web version of SpeedSim.

You need Firefox 3.6.x to run Antigame, I can't do without it.

It does all the math for you.

Whatever gets destroyed, you lose those points.

Good luck! cheers

In addition to Pan's excellent suggestion on speedsim (I never hit without it), http://ogame.wikia.com/wiki/Combat has a good discussion.

I have attacked and get good amount of resources Very Happy

What I don't understand is that I sent more than enough number of large cargos (almost all of them survived battle) and there are still lots of resources (30k each = lots for me) remaining in that planet.

Why didn't my ships take all the resources even though they have capacity to carry? When other people attacked me all my resources were gone, is this my mistake?

Lathis, you will never get it all. Any raid only takes a portion of the defender's resources. http://ogame.wikia.com/wiki/Plunder explains:

1. Divide the planet's metal in half. This is loaded into storage until the amount is exhausted or until 1/3 of the available space is taken up.
2. Divide the planet's crystal in half. This is loaded into storage until the amount is exhausted or until 1/2 of the remaining available space is taken up.
3. Divide the planet's deuterium in half. This is loaded into storage until the amount is exhausted or until all the remaining available space is taken up.
4. If there is space left over after Step 3, any metal remaining from Step 1 is loaded into storage until the amount is exhausted or until 1/2 of the remaining available space is taken up
5. If there is space left over after Step 4, any crystal remaining from Step 2 is loaded into storage the amount is exhausted or until all the remaining available space is taken up.

Simulate your battle beforehand, it will tell you what your plunder is and what you need in terms of hauling capacity for the resources you will get.

You never get more than half but you need extra hauling capacity because of the funky, complicated formula. Smile
